32 bits or 64?
The size of the operating system determines its compatibility with various programs, and therefore each user must be able to determine the type of system. In systems of modern computers 32 bits or 64 are used. In this article we will tell you how to determine whether your system works on 32 or 64 bits.
There are several ways to check the capacity of the system, the first and most convenient, in our opinion, is checking through the "Control Panel":
- Start the "Start" menu, select "Control Panel", click the "System" link.
- In the window that appears, find the same section "System", and in it the characteristic "System Type". Opposite of this characteristic will be indicated what is your system.
In order to get faster access to the "System" section, activate the "Start" menu and in the "Find programs and files" window enter the word "System", then go through the found link.
This is a rather interesting method for checking the system capacity. Go to the folder "Computer",go to "Local Disk (C :)" and see how many systems have folders named Program Files, if the folder is one - you have a 32-bit system, if you also see the Program Files folder (x86) - you have a 64-bit system.
The command line can also help in determining the capacity of the system. Start the "Start" menu, then - "Command Line". In the command line, enter the set command and in the list of characteristics that appear we find PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE. If in front of this parameter, an ADM64 type label is a 64-bit system, if x86 is 32-bit.
As you can see, there are many ways to determine the system capacity, select the one that is most convenient for you and use it.
