Corn Dog or sausage in dough

Korn Dog or sausage in the dough- a recipe.


  1. 100 gr flour
  2. corn flour 100 gr;
  3. Sugar 3 tbsp. l.;
  4. paprika 1 tbsp. l.;
  5. soda 1.5 tsp.
  6. baking powder 1 tsp.;
  7. salt 0.5 tsp.
  8. egg 1 piece;
  9. milk 2 tbsp. l.;
  10. sausages 6 pieces;
  11. cooking oil - 300 ml.


First, mix the dry ingredients. We use corn flour. it gives the right taste.

Stir in the dry ingredients, add the egg and gradually pour in the milk. The dough should be very thick, we regulate the consistency of milk or flour.

Sausages strung on skewers. Then we roll them down in flour so that they better keep the dough on themselves.

The dough is poured into a narrow and high vessel, for example, a cocktail glass or some small vase - this is necessary in order to be able to freely douse the sausages in the dough.  

Pour the oil in the pan, about 2 cm and well heated.Then we lower the sausage completely into the dough and carefully remove it, slightly rolling the skewer. This is necessary so that the dough does not become lumpy, but rather envelops the sausage.

Now fry sausages in oil. To get the batter to be smooth and round, you need to turn the sausage in the oil all the time, especially in the first minutes. That is, we put the nipple in the butter, we see that the dough has grabbed a little - we immediately turn it around and around, if the dough corners appear, gently smooth them with a spatula.

The star must turn golden. Do not overdo it, but do not leave it too light - the dough inside will be raw. Like all dishes in oil - ready Korn Dogs need to be dried on paper towels.

Served with ketchup and mustard, can also be served with hot sauces.
