November comes, and after him, December 2014, which means that people are gradually turning to the theme of the New Year and are making plans to meet him. Every year we spend a lot of money on gifts and souvenirs for friends, colleagues, friends. But is it necessary to buy souvenirs when you can make them yourself? Crafts have the ability to transfer the energy of the donor, which, you will agree, is very pleasant. 2015 on the Eastern calendar is the year of the blue wooden goat, or ram. We offer you to make sheep from salt dough. There are many recipes for salt dough, probably as many as there are craftswomen involved in this type of creativity. The simplest and most basic recipe we will follow is: • One and a half cups of flour; • Half a cup of dry starch (pre-mixed with flour); • A glass of salt; • An incomplete glass of water, approximately 180 ml.
Of course Depending on the grind of the salt the consistency can change, you can add flour, water or salt to the eye. The dough should be quite steep and not stick to your hands. The salt is pre-dissolved, as far as possible, in hot water.
When working with a dough everything needs to be done quickly so that it does not have time to weather and crust. If the dough is too dry or cracks appear, you can smooth it with a small amount of water with your hands or a wooden stick. Next, put the dough into a bag and put it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
We turn on the oven 180 degrees to warm it up.
So, we knead the dough.Free up the workplace from unnecessary items and proceed to the molding.
Next you need to select the toy you want to sculpt. I made a spinning lamb on the basis of Dymkovo toys. Here it is:
We start to sculpt. We separated part of the dough on the horns and covered these parts with a plastic bag so that the dough would not be weathered until we needed it.
Since our sheep has no back legs, and there is only a tail like a whistle, we made some kind of droplet from dough. The sharp tip of the droplet is a tail, from the blunt tip we form the front legs, the head.
From the remnants of dough we form horns and attach them in two places: below and on head. You can optionally mold a small beard, immediately make indentations where the eyes will be.
Down at the lamb I made a dimple, but in the process of roasting it smoothed out .
Next we fry the figurine in the oven.
The figure is cooling down.
Let's start coloring. At first we make a white background with watercolors or gouache. It is important to wait for the complete drying of one side, starting to color the other.
Then gradually paint the toys according to the pattern, or show fantasy. It is important to paint the light parts first, and then the dark parts, so as not to smudge them in the process. To paint the places close to each other, you need to wait for complete drying.
At the end of the work, you can cover the figure with any furniture lacquer. Paints will play even brighter.
Such a gift will appeal not only to children , but also for adults on the bright New Year holiday!
