How to make a frame facade

You will need
  • finished pine plank 20 mm thick and 100 mm wide, manual milling machine, 2 joinery clamps, wood glue, set of end mills.
Instruction
Calculate the size of the parts, based on the size of the product you need. To make such a facade, cut: 2 vertical stand boards (their length is equal to the height of the required facade), 2 horizontal bar (lower and upper horizontal frame elements) whose length is equal to the width of the facade minus 200 mm and + 30 mm The internal parts inserted into the grooves of the frame, calculate the following: when horizontal arrangement, their length is equal to the length of the upper and lower horizontal boards. Count the number of internal strips, based on the height of the facade minus 170 mm. Divide the total height of the inserts by 90. If you have a fractional number, increase it to the next whole number.
Example: You want to make a facade with a height of 700 mm and a width of 500 mm. The length of the side stand boards is 700 mm.The length of the upper and lower horizontal frame boards is: 500 - 200 + 30 = 330 mm. The length of the inserts is also 330 mm. Count them as follows: 700 - 170/90 = 5.88, increase this number to the next whole number, in this case it will be 6.
On one side of each part of the frame using a manual milling machine, make a groove 10 mm wide and 15 mm deep. On both end sides of the horizontal parts of the frames, make a spike 15 mm wide and 10 mm thick. Then, profile the side edges of the facade insertion parts. On one side of each part, make a groove 10 mm wide and deep, and on the other side a 10 mm wide and 10 mm wide spike.
2 vertical stand boards (their length is equal to the height of the required facade), 2 horizontal barrels (lower and upper horizontal frame elements) whose length is equal to the width of the facade minus 200 mm and + 30 mm. The internal parts inserted into the grooves of the frame, calculate the following: when horizontal arrangement, their length is equal to the length of the upper and lower horizontal boards. Count the number of internal strips, based on the height of the facade minus 170 mm. Divide the total height of the inserts by 90. If you have a fractional number, increase it to the next whole number.
Put together the details of the central part of the facade, inserting the spike of one board into the groove of the other. The total height of the panel was 550 mm. Requires 700 - 170 = 530 mm. Evenly and evenly cut the edges of the upper and lower boards so that their apparent width remains the same and when assembled, the central part of the facade looks symmetrical. On the trimmed edges of the upper and lower boards of the central part of the facade, make a spike 15 mm wide and 10 mm thick, which will be inserted respectively into the upper and lower frame parts. On the ends of the parts of the central part of the facade, make a pinch with the same dimensions. It should be inserted into the grooves of the vertical stand boards of the facade frame.
Glue the spikes on the top and bottom boards of the frame. Assemble the frame facade together with the details of the central part and squeeze the joinery clamps along the sides. After the glue has completely dried, remove the clamps and clean the front edges of the facade with fine emery paper.
